With conditions being a little more friendly for anglers, great catches of salmon have come in all week. With the water temperature down to 13 degrees, salmon to 1.5 kg or 50 cm plus are abundent.
Fishing the low tides is perfect for spinning. You will be casting beyond the break and into the back channel.
With the close in gutters now well formed, anglers bait fishing the incoming tides will have great success with a 50-60 metre cast.
The photos are of Beach 1 at low tide. A solid gutter has formed the length of the beach with distinct holes out the front of the ramp, 200 metres to the right and left and 600 metres to the left.
Vary your casting distances at high tide until you find where the schools are travelling: in the wash or the deeper sections of the gutters. When bait fishing, poppers are essential to locating the fish.
