Estuary Perch Tarwin River 22nd January 2013

22 Jan 2013

The Estuary Perch have moved up above the highway bridge in the Tarwin River. Schools of fish to 32cm can be sounded up in the boat or kayak. If you are in search of the 40cm plus, drift with the outgoing tide and target the larger fish in tight on the one off snags. Most consistent soft baits have been the Sqidgy bug or 100 mm Wrigglers in Blood worm or the Strike Pro Pigmy (suspending) in the striped minnow pattern.
