Inverloch Holiday fishing Highlights 5/1/2013 Offshore

05 Jan 2013

The stable morning weather conditions have allowed many boats to cross the bar and make their first trips chasing Sharks and heading down to Cape Liptrap in search of the Kings.

Water temperatures have increased to 19.4 degrees and in some areas 20 plus.

Good sized flathead to 45 cm on the drift in 15 metres off the Venus Bay Beaches. Big gummies to 22 kg in 40 metres also off Venus Bay. Small Makos to 10 kg at 50 metres towards Codie Bank.

Arrow Squid in good numbers off Petral Rock. Trevally to 1kg and whiting to 45cm at Flatrocks and Cape Patterson. Big schools of salmon outside the entrance to Anderson Inlet.

At Cape Liptrap, many sightings of King but no reports of hook ups. After checking our diary and photos, mid Jan to end of Feb will be the most productive period th target them.
