It was with great pleasure I had the oppotunity to be involved with the residents of Rose Lodge Wonthaggi fishing the Tarwin River Boat Ramp yesterday. Local anglers, Ian and Allan had pumped bass yabbies at the mouth of Screw Creek on Tuesday afternoon.
Live bait, an incoming tide and favourable weather conditions. Awesome! Now the pressure was on to catch some fish for the residents bi-annual fishing adventure,
After a slow start, around the half rising tide, the first trevally was landed by Don and then followed very quickly by his first bream of 34cm. And as with all fishing trips, as soon ashe BBQ was lit and rods were bending all along the bank. Estuary Perch, Trevally, more Bream (biggest 38cm caught by Owen) and the usual suspects when fishing with live Bass Yabbies...Mr Toadie and family!
The three Bream were kept for dinner at Rose Lodge last night and all other fish were released un-harmed.
Plenty of smiles and a very enjoyable day was had by all, especially me
