Drone View of Anderson Inlet. 9th June 2016

Mon, 06/06/2016 - 11:38 -- David Walsh

With Salmon Season underway, we were fortunate to have some great weather to send up a Drone up last week.

The purpose  to show the best land-based options to fish with a better understanding of the changing sand bars and channels.

The salmon schools are  moving in on the tides following large bait schools. So where are the best locations to reach when spinning lures and bait fishing?

Spring Fishing Highlights and Opportunities 29th October 2014

Mon, 10/13/2014 - 18:12 -- David Walsh

The warmer weather patterns and the subsequent increase in water temperature has produced the first quality catches of Whiting and Pinkie Snapper in Anderson Inlet.

The key areas to target whiting are.......the new lagoon that has formed inside the entrance at Point Norman , land-based behind the Yacht Club, the weed-beds east of the jetty, (both land-based and from a kayak), Stevies Gutter from boat and kayak and the shell bank out the front of the Inverloch Boat Hire. The best baits are live bass yabbies, beach worm, squid strips and pipi.

Targeting Winter Estuary Perch

Wed, 08/29/2012 - 16:40 -- admin
Tarwin River Estuary Perch

The tributaries of Anderson Inlet are getting a good flush out as we get an early taste of the Winter to come. The rain in the week sees the Tarwin River, Pound Creek, Cherry Tree Creek and Screw Creek flowing into the estuary.

So where do the Estuary go during winter time and what are they feeding on???

After survey fishing with DPI for Estuary Perch (EP’S) over a couple of years, I have come to this conclusion.
