Great Fishing Times for Kids in Inverloch 15th Decenber 2015

Tue, 12/15/2015 - 18:47 -- David Walsh

When the weather starts to get some consistency, like the big high that is settling over Victoria, it's time to tell the kids to stick the electronic devises up the proverbial, and GET OUTSIDE!!!!! Some much to do when the weather is good.

The Inverloch Jetty is proving very productive at all tides with famillies catching a variety of species including flathead, mullet. salmon, luderick, leather jacket and the odd trevally.

Best baits are pipi (using the crushed shells as berley), cured worm, blubait and squid strips.

Anthony said the kids have enjoyed the story and are using the audio disc for class participation. They also have many great fishing adventures of the own to tell. Thanks Anthony for the feedback and I hope there continues to be many tall stories with big tails!

Long weekends and school holidays during Spring and Summer are the times to get outdoors with the kids and have adventures.

Kids are having a great time fishing Anderson Inlet, Inverloch. On the safe protected beaches, there are a variety of species to catch during the Spring. Around the high tide, Flathead, Australian Salmon, Trevally and Mullet are taking pipi, beach worm, pilchard pieces and blue-bait. You can fish along any of the sandy beaches from Pensioners Point back to the mouth of Screw Creek.

Young Baxter from Inverloch had an awesome time fishing the inlet beaches of Anderson Inlet. But it wasn't just bait fishing, Baxter has mastered casting and retieving lures.

Check out Baxter's casting style.

Footnote: It is great to see that Baxter is wearing the right clothing to be fishing lures....sunglasses and cap for protection.

National Simultaneous Story Time 22nd May 2013

Wed, 05/22/2013 - 14:01 -- David Walsh

It was great fun today to be invited to the Inverloch Library to be part of their regular Wednesday Story Time and National Simultaneous Story Time.

I had the opportunity to read my story ..."We Caught a Fish"...then at 11.00am, I read the awesome Nick Bland story.."The Wrong Book"...which was being read to pre-schoolers at the same time in all the Libraries all around Australia.

The girls at the library do an awesome job each week with songs, dance, great stories and coloring-in activities..Thanks for letting me be apart of the morning.
