A pattern is evolving for the schools of salmon coming into Anderson Inlet.
Late afternoon high tides with overcast conditions or falling light.
Again, the salmon were within reach of land-based lure anglers at Pensioners Point. Spinning from the shore using 9', 4-6kg rods and 4000 sized reels with 25-40 gram metal lure produced results again yesterday.
Salmon to 2 kg were caught in good numbers. A high barameter reading of 1030 also would have contributed to feisty feeding of the schools.
The rest of this week should continue be a great opportunity to target land-based salmon in the Anderson Inlet and off the surf beaches of Kilcunda, Wonthaggi and Venus Bay.
Footnote: Mahers Landing is producing 1 kg plus Trevally on bluebait east of the boat ramp.
